ive just sold my cruisers international 224 to a real nice gentleman from ireland

and am looking to replace it with a new or used boat
ive been offered a brand new sealine 25 at a good price with a kad 32 diesel
and a few extras on it

i was wondering what all you boaters feel the sealine 25 are like

and if you thought i would be better getting a used boat that is bigger
it must be diesel engines
the most i want to spend is £55000

i more in boston in the summer and want to use it at sea in the wash etc
and at burton waters in the winter on the river

so i want your opinion and advise
brand new sealine or ????????????

the boat below is the one ive just sold it was a great boat and im sure the new owner will love it as much as i did

I would look closely at the used market. The Sealine S28 is an excellent twin diesel boat and can be had for similar money

I've got a 224 and looking to replace it soon too, but good boat that it is I wouldn't go for a Sealine 25 or Searay 240, Monteray etc... they are all basicaly the same boat size wise, and in terms of what you can do with them, range, accomodation etc.. is all similar.
So you'll spend three times as much to get the same boat but just a bit newer and shinier, I am looking at a similar budget and for that money you can buy, for example: Sealine 28, Sealine 305/310, Princess 286, FairlineTarga28/29 even a Targa 33 if you haggle, all much larger boats and twin diesel with significantly more accomodation and ability. There really is no point buying new, unless image is everything.

I'm on my third Sealine and I find them easy to deal with and the boats are excellent. I would consider going up a size (and cost) to a larger engine. You will get more pleasure from it and it will be infinitely easier to sell on, come the day. Sealine always do a good trade in when upgrading and there are some lovely boats to upgrade to.
best of luck

Excellent little boats for the money, only the newer Sealine S25 is better packaged but three time the price.

I've sent you a pm as I've just decided to put mine on the market /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
