Hi,
Recently happened across 6 months of spare time I'm looking for some crewing work after putting it off for years. I've got my RYA Day Skipper and VHF tickets, and with ~600 miles under my belt I'm keen to learn more. I'm on a fairly limited budget but I'm hard working and up for anything, my only requirement is to be back by October.
Cheers,
Kieran

I am looking for an experienced crew member to join me on a trip from Southern Spain to Sardinia. I already have one other person Richard Strudwick who is 34, but three of us would make the trip more comfortable. (3hrs on, 6hrs off – I will obviously be ‘on call’ around the clock). There would be an opportunity to put in to northern Menorca if we want. This would make it a little longer but not much depending on how long we stay. Fornells is a nice place. Going direct it is 360nm and at a conservative 5 knots it will take us 72 hrs so if we set off on Tuesday 8th we should reach Alghero by Friday. My wife has decided to fly to Sardinia and will join me there for the rest of the summer. There will be further crewing opportunities later in the summer.

So let me tell you a little about myself. I am a Yacht master Offshore and have sailed all my life. My yacht ‘Moonshadow of Down’ is a 42 foot, centre cockpit ketch built 1979 and designed by Holman & Pye. You would call her a modern classic and she is admired for her looks wherever we go. We sailed her from Cardiff to the Lagos in Portugal four years ago and have cruised the Balearics during the summers since then. We are now heading further east and will lay up for winter in Sibari, southern Italy for the winter coming.

Travel arrangements: I will go to Spain about a week before set off. Boat preparation, antifouling and launch etc. Your trip to Sant Carles Marina (a half English owned MDL marina) is:
Easyjet from ? to Barcelona approx. £40, train to L’Aldea 12€, taxi to marina 25€, may be sharing with Richard)

Return: Ryan Air, Alghero to Stanstead £11 (13 May) and airport bus to Cardiff ?

The arrangements are: you pay and arrange travel, I pay for all food and other expenses.

Drop me a line or ring if you are interested and feel you have the right experience so we can meet and discuss.

I will send pics. of the yacht if you forward your email.
