Helo, we are renovating out 63yr old MFV. We need to replace a fair part of the port deck. the starboard side looks as if it has bee replaced not long ago, but on the portv side we have some bad rot where rain has come in. Im looking for a supplier of Iroko to replacde part of the old teak deck. the starboard side has been replaced with iroko and is lovely to work with. We have just spent three weeks stripping battleship grey gloss from out 50ft by 15 ft deck. We have uncovered some lovely wood so when its repaired we are going to oil with teak oit then wax and varnish. Any ideas about suppliers in Kent near medway? Thanks /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Timbmet in Oxford may be you best bet as the are one of the larger importers of hardwood and they deliver . Known as Timbmet Silverman . If its a small amount you need try This link .

Timbmet are ok for Iroko, state if you want air dried or kilned, air dried may be best for your deck. Some times they have wide long lengths, you may have to wait for new stock to come in. As to the finish, oiling would be fine but you will have to keep doing it regularly to stop it greying. I would not varnish over waxing as you have suggested. Some people are very sensitive to iroko dust, so best to use a mask!

I would suggest as other posts Timbmet at Oxford. They may not be the cheapest but quality control is second to none.
We use them all the time for various hardwoods.
