Steadfast is looking for a walk ashore mooring for a 14m boat with a 1.7m draft. I need to go back to work for a while in order to replenish the funds necessary to cruise and maintain my little historic tug, and have been offered a six month contract in Bournemouth. I'm bringing Steadfast with me to use as accommodation for a few days a week while working and to keep her close for ongoing care and maintenance. Her previous mooring in Chatham is too far away to ensure I can continue to give her the care she needs.
Poole harbour, or any south coast marina, seems punishingly expensive and my need for six months mooring excludes the annual discounts available for long term lets.
Can any forum members recommend a solution at reasonable cost? She is usually welcomed on "heritage" moorings but I'm not sure if there are any in the Poole or Solent area

You have answered your own question. The only place in Poole with walk ashore that will take your boat is Cobbs Quay. Solent even more difficult and expensive, although you might find a mid river mooring in the upper reaches of the Itchen, or Eastlands at Swanwick if you can get under the bridge. Neither good for commuting to Bournemouth though.
