Many years ago I read a book about an ex American merchant seaman who was discharged from his ship on the west coast of Panama when the war finished.His problem?He had married an Australian girl while passing through and wanted to get back there.Not that rich but he bought a yacht and taught himself to sail and learned a little navigation then set of for Aus!!!
The rest of the book is pretty exciting so if anyone can remember it let me know I would love to read it again!!!
