Hi, you may have gathered from my other post that I am looking for a boat. What I would ideally like is a motor boat 25' to 45' with minmum 2 berths (or space for them ) My dad would also like a share in it to use as a workboat for trials. I've been considering ex mfv's etc. The real snag is our budget....ie not much above 5k. Does anyone know of anything that fits such a specification?? I am happy to take something that needs work and am a keen woodworker but unfortunately I do not have the time for a full restoration. Thanks Iain

just to elaborate a little...I would be using her as a sea going family cruiser although she'd be mainly used for day trips around Poole Harbour area I'd like the accomadation to be able to go a little further afield. In an ideal world cross channel but for 5k I realise this may be a bit more than I can manage

Iain, consider the purchase price as a sort of deposit which entitles you to the boat. You will then be allowed, nay, required to expend lots of T.L.C. [Time, Labour and Cash] on said boat. as long as you understand that then go ahead; I wish you good luck. As Mirelle has pointed out on another posting, boats are much easier to buy than they are to sell, so choose carefully, you could be owning it for quite a long time.
Peter.
