I have convinced SWMBO to look at a boat at lat this weekend, the boat has been up for sale for nearly a year now with no price drop, would anyone hazard a guess to fuel consumption? Its a planning hull 48 foot with two Cat 650hp,

Tom

Good luck with that Tom.We came to visit Faversham Creek last year.Parked up next to the swing bridge.
The self flushing system came as a suprise !

Hope this cold wind drops a bit for you Tom. She might struggle to be interested with that howling round her kilt. Ring ahead and get the agent to wind up the heating for you. Good luck. And don't worry about the diesel - you know you prefer pottering about at displacement speed!

If you need third pair of eyes . . .

Fuel consumption you control with speed / load, so won't be massive at displacement speed... once you exceed that, you'll draw the juice....

You need to think about if you can live with the maintenance cost of the 650 CAT's .... x litres of lube / gearbox oil, coolant, adjustments, service engineers etc.... which is bound to be bigger $$ than smaller engines...

I like the boat, I do have some pictures.will post later, a lot of boat for the money but maybe not the best boat for UK weather.
very low hand rails and very tight engine room to look after the Cats and generator, so back to the drawing board, Might just charter this summer?

Tom
