Hi all

This is a long shot, but if I don't ask the question... :)

We used to boat on the Thames with Silver Lady-a 35 foot broom sedan-before moving her to Portishead. We've since sold her but fancy hiring a boat, of a similar nature, on the Thames next weekend.

I've looked at the hiring companies-we've hired before in Scotland and in France-but they seem a touch over priced for three nights.

I'm looking for a little inspiration from anyone here who can suggest a good alternative perhaps.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions offered!

Seeing as you are so close to the date, I'd consider using one of the major sites to find the boats, then give the boatyard a ring directly and see if they are willing to cut you a deal for last minute :)

Try caversham in Reading

They are getting on a bit, that's for sure...not always a bad thing as I've rented some older boats that have been refurbed making them very pleasant inside....on the other hand, I've also rented one or two that were bleedin awful....Can't say for caversham, never used them, only seem them about on the river
