This is a long shot just in case

After a lovely 5 week trip around Belguim and Holland canals and rivers our boat is in Niuopoort Belguinm safe in a mooring on a canal.

we have damaged our prop but it is still very much balanced ie no shaking or vibration so it can still travel but speed is reduced by around 20%.

I can either cross back on slower travel and fix in UK or try and get fixed in Belguim.

I dont really want boat out of water so if anyone know a diver service?

That could help.

Thanks in advance

Tom

Else I'd say that Nieuwpoort must have a lot of such incidents and a Google for

Nieuwpoort boat repair

finds this list
with e.g.

BELGIAN BOAT SERVICE

Watersportlaan 12, 8620, Nieuwpoort

who could help or point you to someone..

They can lift you out (up to 45 tons) it seems
Winterberging - Belgian Boat Service

I would suggest you get a price from a yard with a hoist to lift and inspect and hold for a few hours and relaunch.

You need to carefully inspect the shaft and prop, possibly remove, dress by eye and refit the prop.

It is possible you have bent the shaft especially the taper or damaged the cutless bearing.

Also if twin engine inspect the other prop and shaft as well as rudders.

Normally an insurance company will pay for this inspection.

It is very difficult to do do this with a diver telling you what he thought he had seen or had missed.

If you have not already notified your insurance do so by email and describe the incident, place, time and date etc. This way they have notification on file in case you wish to make a claim at a later date.

Indeed - YOUR boat, your eyes, your fingers on.
Remember lots of photos and video - end-to-end.
