Long Shaft Outboard Needed

Further to an earlier posting I am still looking to convert my 4HP Merc to a long shaft. It was suggested that I a) get hold of a scrap longshaft engine and take off the extension piece longer shaft water pick up and gear change rod or b) find someone who has a long shaft but wants a short shaft (with integral tank - no remote fuel tank connection).

Question is: where will I find a scrap long shaft 4HP mercury 2 stroke? Are there scrap yards around for such things? Incidentally I live in Warsash near Southampton.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Try the chap under the bridge by the roundabout in Fareham. (Leave the M27 and head towards Gosport to find it) He is well worth a visit and not far from you. Can't remember his name but is very helpful.
