Just seen on BBC tv about a man (Kiwi?) swimming The English Channel from Land's End to Ramsgate(?). Amazing.

But I heard last week that there is a man swimming the whole way round Britain. He was apparently near here (Poolewe to Cape Wrath) just days ago.
There is an accompanying big catamaran as monitor/safety boat.

Anyone have any confirmation of this, and progress reports?

Shhheeeeesssshhh - a swim right round Britain!!!

Good luck to him/her.

The accompanying safety boat is/was called Hecate. If you look for it on AIS, you'll probably find where they've got to.

That's the one, thank you. I saw it on Marine Traffic but didn't know if they were the support vessel.
There was a large French cat in the area as well, which was confusing a few of us.
It is off Loch Eriboll; at present. I wonder where they started the swim and how long ago. I presume they are raising money for a charity or research project.
They'll have had a tough time recently!!

If anyone else has any info, I'm sure this would make an interesting thread.

Staggering feat, good luck to Ross.
