Recieved a two for £20 London boat show tickets offer
Quote DM1 to get the offer.

Logged on and on line filled in the DM1 offer code and all my details and Credit card details.

The £20 became £21.25 as a handling fee was added?
Why?

Then a message that an error has occured, but the tickets have been reserved for you, phone 0844 209 0333 and a number to quote. No details of what sort of error!

On phoning was asked by a guy called Kevin to provide all the credit card details again, which included asking him asking me for the three digits printed on the back of the card. Thought these numbers should never be given verbally and were only ever for entering on a secure electronic site? At this point I refused to give the numbers and backed out.
Is this a con or am I just being paranoid

Regards Paul

giving last three digit's over the phone is common practice these day's as well as on line. expect you are calling ticket master. i've used them before with no worries

dont think I ve ever paid with a card over the phone where they have NOT needed the three digit code....

To verify a card transaction when customer is not present in the shop. The seller has to get the 3 digit code on the back of the card and your post code. The numerical digits of the post code are authenticated against the card owners address and if all matches, the terminal authorises the sale (Providing of course the customer has the funds). NEVER NEVER GIVE YOUR PIN CODE WHICH IS DIFFERENT TO THE SECURITY CODE. IF ANYONE ASKS YOU FOR YOUR PIN IT IS A FRAUD AND SHOULD BE REPORTED.
