Took my 15 year old son and his friend to LBS yesterday, here's my impression of it........
1. Much smaller than last year, lots of stinky mobos but not many sailing boats - thumbs down.
2. Very quiet, which delighted son + mate as they were allowed unfettered access to all the £1m+ Stinkseekers and the like (schoolboys dreaming) and allowed engine/instrument stands to give me lots of attention.....thumbs up.
3. Lots of luxury cars for some reason.......thumbs up from son, but of no interest to me.
4. Lots of Chandlery as usual but not many bargains and lots of non-boaty stands selling wine, lux goods......thumbs down.
5. Oyster stand still snobby about letting 'the likes of us' maul their lovely offerings with our grubby little mitts...thumbs kept in pocket, who cares.
6. Bavaria 42 Vision - nice, Bavaria have certainly upped their game with this one, I'd have one......and that is coming from a classic long-keeled diehard MAB owner!....thumbs up.
Most people I spoke to thought this would be the last show in London.
Enjoyed the day, son + mate very happy......so overall....thumbs up.
