London Boat Show 2016 video - Motor Boat & Yachting

To be fair, if anyone missed the show, they really didn't miss much. There really wasn't that much there. I felt that between 2015 & 2016, the show has declined.

I suppose the issue is LIBS and SIBS are pretty much always the same. Same exhibitors, same placement, mostly the same stock.

It depends on why you go ( inspiration, see people, specific purchase).

I still go and enjoy it but I do feel that like a supermaket they need to mix it up a bit so the visitor sees (albeit the same stuff) through fresh eyes.

That's why I'm going to Dussledorf at the end of the month.
Having been to both LBS & SIBS a few times they get a bit samey, and have both declined over the years.
I'm interested to see a bigger international show and am told Dusseldorf takes 2 days to see properly.

Looking forward to it.

Thanks for posting Jack, nicely edited video. Unfortunately i won't be attending this year, but was curious to know if the absence of Fairline has had an impact on the show, as just on square footage that they used alone at the show, it must be very noticeable that they are unfortunately not there.

Thank you, editing was done by news ed Chris.

If you didn't know Fairline were supposed to be there you wouldn't notice, if you see what I mean? There's not a whacking great hole where the stand should have been so British Marine have managed the floorplan well.

Speaking to some exhibitors on press day there was concern that the lack of one of the "big three" at that end would have a negative effect on footfall at that end of the hall but it looked busy enough to me around there when I was there yesterday.

Having made the journey today to visit LIBS the only plus point being my free ticket.
In by 10.30 and bored by 2 not a days entertainment as in the good old days.
Home by 6 and time to get down local for quiz night with beer far below £4.95 a pint!
4 or of us have decided to skip Southampton Show as that also is tired and put our money down on a cheap trip over to Dusseldorf in 2017.
Might even take the good Lady away for a couple of days.
As a group of pals we wonder if costs for a short hop over to Germany reasonable hotel take the other halves for a break if cost will exceed two very expensive UK Shows.
Living in East Anglia always stay two nights for Southampton.
Any one undertaken this alternative way to see some boats (not many in London this year)!

Stop Press: man walks into a show, yesterday...only to be confronted by the Sunseeker stand, front and centre of which were three women in silver lamé dresses playing musical instruments.

This made me feel that I needed a drink and I quickly spotted something that looked good, with a sign that read "LandRover BAR". But it wasn't. It was just some sort of display. So I headed off to the Princess hospitality, which was very nice and whiled away a pleasant hour or so chatting to some delightful forumites until the show closed and the security detail moved us all on. :D
