Has anyone got a 160hp Lombardini fitted to there boat?

Anyone had any Lombardini engines? Are they reliable? I'm told they're easy to self service, they're powerful and light. I'm not an engine man so any advice (sarcastic comments welcome) would be a great help.

Cheers,

Nick

I have a small Lombardini in my Mase generator and it starts OK but its ali bodied and appears a bit flimsy with loads of casting gussets etc. I can`t say too much more other than it doesnt impress, but it seems OK for a small engine. Oh! the exhaust rotted through but don`t they all!

Ah, you'd be talking about the Lombardini LDW 194 JMT engine then, part of Lombardini JMT series of 4 cylinder and 5 cylinder engines.

Its a 4 cylinder, 1910cc , 4000rpm max , 160hp/117.6kW , 268kg with gearbox , common rail , 4 valves per cylinder , hydraulic tappets , 250hrs service , 24 months warranty.

Not a bad set-up really, also available on a Bravo 1 outdrive and relevant kit available to couple up to existing VP outdrives.

We have one here if you want a closer look.

I've seen the engine, spec and all the technical stuff.

I would like info on reliability, I used to work for Golden Arrow (the main dealer), but we never had one fitted to anything so I don't know how well they run

Anyone got one fitted?

I worked for a Lombardini dealer for several years, and installed quite a few, bit like jap cars we only saw them for servicing, customers were happy and in ralation to Volvo and others I have worked on they were very reliable and troublefree.

The only problems we have is as they are low maintainance the owners do them their selves and forget the anodes..we sell loads of heat exchangers ££££thank you
