Does anyone know of a simple program that logs the output (lat, lon, speed, course) of my GPS on a laptop every say 30 minutes?

Would be nice wouldnt it?

Happy sailing

Visit www.neptune-navigation.com and you will get much more than just a track log for about £100 to include planning/plotting program, coastline charts and the connection to your laptop.

In my view it is the best value planning software available.

There is a free download programme called SeaClear which automatically logs the info to a log file at intervals determined by user. I have not used it yet but intend to on my next trip. Like OziExplorer, charts can be scanned images from your existing paper charts.

I'll second that. Starts at £65 and includes tidal offsets. Will also keep a log of your track over the ground in graphic form. Telephone backup from the writer. Excellent.

You can download wingps at www.stentec.com. (uiteraard ook in het Nederlands verkrijgbaar en compatibel met de 1800-serie kaarten).

The demo version has a logging function, I believe.

But I wouldn't download the crack on http://www.astalavista.box.sk/ that would convert this to the full 150€ version, because that would be unethical, wouldn't it ?

mmmmm....thats good as the 'crack' that I downloaded for wingps gave me nothing useful....maybe you should explain what it is that we need to avoid so no one makes a mistake....

Purely hypothetical:

Let's say the crk is for the older version (wingps 398 shareware), which you turn into the official version. You could then go download the upgrade to get from 398 to 3.3 pro.

But why bother: there's a WINGPS PRO 3.3 crk listed as well ?
