I have bought a wifi hub that I want to connect to my ipad. Primarily for using iregatta.

I can connect my gps to the hub and I have a blue tooth wind instrument on top of the mast.

I would like to intergrate my log also, can I split the cable between the paddle wheel and the display and connect an extension to the wifi router ? I am not sure if the signal coming from the paddle wheel is readable or if I have to go via the display. I am using a clipper duet for log and depth.

Any advice is much appreciated before I start cutting cables and trying

Thanks
T

The NASA paddle wheel will output pulses with frequency dependent on speed, presumably not readable by your ipad app.
I'd expect that you need to use NMEA data, does the Clipper output that? I think it does.

You would have thought so but there are just 2 coaxial connectors that the cables plug into, one for the log and one for the depth. so not sure. I am kind of hoping that within the cable there are multiple wires and one is nmea send data from the display.

Just looked at the NASA website. Seems that although the Clipper log outputs NMEA for their log repeater, the Clipper Duet doesn't; strange!
If so, you're seemingly out of luck unless some-one knows better.
