This is my first posting so I hope I don't mess up! My Tigres works fine (electrically) and has been regularly maintained and serviced. When commissioning the boat this year I was unable to use the manual (emergency) system for chain retrieval - it pulls chain up no problem but I can't get the lever to go forwards on the ratchet to grab the next length of chain. All components are greased and clean. The only thing I can see that might be the cause (but unsure of the mechanism) is corrosion to the inside of the alloy rope drum where there are 4 lugs that I think work with the 2 springs on the dog ckutch. 2 of these lugs have corroded in part and so are smaller than they should be. Any assistance welcome before I call the (expensive in the Solent) engineer. Many thanks.
Update - spoke to a few people and have resolved this by replacing dog clutch springs
