Lofran's Kobra Motor replacement?

Hi everyone
Has anybody found a motor suitable for a Lofran's Kobra 12v 1000w winch?
Looking through some old thread's someone said a SL one may be suitable anybody found this to be correct, or even a UK supplier of a proper Lofran replacement. Mines now full of salt inside. Pretty poor design really as it seems to be quite common fault.
