LOCKING OPEN BODY RIGGING SCREW

Thanks Alan, I think i will go for the siezing wire option, hopefully less snags on sails and sheets. My last boat had rigging screws with locking nuts, it might have seemed a silly question but i was not that sure what to use. many thanks

I prefer locking nuts, far more effective than any other method. If you use wire or splitpins you need to tape them up and that can cause problems with corrosion etc. Far better that they be open to inspection.
Ted.

Rigging wire is my preference; just tuck the twisted ends into the "open body" and that should be sufficient. Using tape on top shouldn't be necessary and it's quick & easy to check. Split pins in forks can be troublesome snags requiring covers and/or tape imho.

Like MDDrifter, I use seizing wire and tuck the twisted ends inside where they can't catch anything. Simple to fit, quick to remove and easily inspected.
