Lockies, \"RiverViews\" and 2009 registration
Bit of a rag-bag post.
(1). Did anyone see the lock houses piece on the 10 O'clock BBC regional news last night (and probably the early regional news as well)?
Great coverage - A pity that the first clip wasn't on the Thames, but where was it Wey, Wey & Arun, or T&K - anyone know. The trip boat was a giveaway, if you know of it. The last piece was from Shiplake.
(2) RiverViews
(a) Where's the cover page picture?
(b) This little mag is getting better as time goes along. Quite a good read - remember it's principally aimed at attracting folks to the river.
(3) Registrations.
I was a bit miffed that the renewal forms only arrived this morning (5th. December), and if I want my reg: plate to be correctly issued from 1st. January, then I must get all my digits out and pay up by 12th. December. That means I have to drop everything just to keep EA happy.
I think that's a bit arrogant on their part...
OK,OK, I know there are (bound to be) jolly good reasons, and I shouldn't be an anoraky pedant, but I do find it somewhat contemptuous of "them".
Wouldn't have happened in Eileen's day.
Just noticed that if I'm not going to use the boat from 1/1/2009 ( I assume go boating on New Year's day) then I can pay a little bit later, however as mentioned in another post elsewhere), my understanding is that I "must" be registered on that date...
EA please clarify.
