Lock Closures this year.

Travelling back his weekend I was informed that there are several lock closures starting on the 1st November 2012.
Someone must have made a mistake as schools and colleges in the South East area do not finish there half term break until Sunday 4th November 2012.
This means all boaters based below Penton Hook Lock cannot use this school holiday as a Autumn Break.
I have e-mailed the EA and I am waiting fot a reply.

At this time - far away from the actual start date - there's still room for juggling, so there may be some changes.
 
The same mentality as closing the main arch of Clifton Hampden bridge in September? Seems to be a theme here, the EA take your money and then close the river when their customers want to use it. As the half term holiday is when the river gets busy again, are there going to be an hire companies badly affected by this?
 
Lock closures for the half term

After informing the EA that they were starting their winter work partway through the half term break for schools and colleges, they have come back to me stating that work at Penton Hook, Whitchurch and Abingdon Locks has been put back to start on November 5th. They cannot however put back the closure at Iffley Lock though and that still starts on November 1st.

I was planning to move my boat up the Thames and back to Bristol via the K&A from this weekend (the 27th).

In trawling the PLA website, to print off last minute passage plans, I've just had a small heart attack in reading that Richmond Lock and Weir will be closed.

Now - this will be my first time doing this, so I don't know the area well. Does this mean it's still passable within 2 hours of high tide as usual? Or is it impassable?

Any help and advice would be appreciated - I'm starting to panic!
