my wife wants to go camping next week----stopping at cookham or hurley ---then--days--eynsham and rushey-----are these practical distances to travel in a day----any suggestions for other campsites or pubs welcome----but i do like to see/be near to my boat as its a big fat outboard powered open rowing boat and obviously not secure----------thanks lenten---ps hopefully we are going right up until we run out of water

Distance tables with cruising time on TMBA websiter here:

It depends how long you've got. Allow 1hr for every lock.
Hurley is great for camping, but the campsite is on a different island to the moorings, you won't be able to see your boat.

thanks boatone and everybody---printed tables----hurley to days lock in one go is obviously impractical-----did a similar trip years ago weekdays in august---reading to abingdon----was surprised how little traffic there was on the water----often we were the only boat in the lock---was thinking of 20 mins per lock----but perhaps i am remembering through rose tinted spectacles

sorry wasn t clear----20 mins to lock through---my 15 hp engine will just about break the speed limit but will squander precious fuel---don t want to be wandering round strange places looking for petrol----thanks for camping info
