The main pier is being extended & a travel hoist dock being built with an expected lift capability of 50 tonnes.

Angus, is the hoist/crane unit the same one that was bought from Inverness 3-4 years ago? I'm thinking that it's all taking a bit longer than required, but if it is happening, overjoyed that it is. I reckon it's a good thing for us all.

According to Joe the HM that's the plan. It says 45 tonnes on it & is about 7m wide. Some preliminary work maintaining the steelwork of the existing pier is ongoing which needs to be completed first.
