hi there, thinkin of goin to loch lomond for my first ever boat trip. was wondering how it is for new people i.e are there any requirements needed before i can launch? do they have a tractor they use to help people launch? my car's a little low, wouldnt trust it :D thanks!!

You need to register your boat with the Park Authority (FOC) at Balloch - lots of info on www.lochlomond-trossachs.org. ID numbers need to be affixed to boat (£5-00 from registration office).
There are several slipways around the loch, the best at Balloch next to the Park authority offices - 2 long concrete ramps, easy launch and recovery - the wardens are very helpful and will assist if required. Water tap nearby.
Good (free) car park on site, with securing points for trailer.
(very unusual in this country to find a free slip and free secure parking, in my experience)
How big is your boat? If your car will pull it on the roads, then you'll have no problem launching/recovering here. As far as I know, there isn't a tractor on site.
All the info on registration etc from: Boat Registration Office,
Duncan Mills Memorial Slipway,
Balloch Pier,
Balloch,
G83 8QX.
Have a good cruise!
