Anybody any recommendations for somewhere reasonable to eat walking distance from Chatham Marina.

A party of eight boats coming up Bank holiday weekend to visit the dockyard looking for somewhere most of could get together for food on the Saturday or Sunday night
Thanks
Dave

Lots of places within the dockyard/marina area, all walking distance.
Half decent Italian. Interesting Mexican. Ship and Trades can be good but busy. Others too.

We had an excellent meal at "Gurkhas Brother". This is a Nepalese restaurant.

Not that close to the marina unfortunately. Around a 30 minute walk.

All marina, eateries are chain type outlets and should be able to handle a club load as shortish notice, eat early for definate booking, 6.00 pm you probably will eat 7.30 you probably will not esp. as one big group.

Couple of all you can eats and the usual Nandos/Zippers/Villagios/ etc. Ship and Trades prob least chain.
For anything a bit more individual you will need to take your life into your own hands and go into town. :):):)
Tip, most chains will NOT itemise bill for large groups,so you will have to divide bill by total peeps and lump it.
The pains who want 3 lettuce leaves and a glass tap water (small) can go an sit on another table away from the alcoholics and gluttons.
You could faff about ...divide food bill and order drinks individually..
Ask Murv how we know this !

Rochester by far the best in the old high street
For a quick beer,if nothing better to do,a visit to Upper Upnor worth an hour of your time.
Castle and couple of pubs esp. Tudor Rose

"Subway" is awful...unless of course you enjoy tasteless ice cold coloured stuff imported from Spain wrapped in old NHS cotton wool, served by young people there under duress.

Two decent pub fooderies in Lower Upnor.
The Pier. Much better for families and good choice of beers.
The Ship. Much better who people who hate families, who probably secretly think yachting has merits..

IIRC there's a good student union restaurant nearby, Medway University ? About 200 yds from the marina gate.

Decent varied scoff, fair drink prices, often with a live band in the (near) background.

You will of course want to do the distillery tour ?
Takes about an hour or so and, you get some tasters and free tipple in the bar at the end of the tour.
....they also have a little bar open to all tucked away at the very end of the building, few folk even know it is there.

Not a gin person me-self but the stuff they make is world away from the hideous industrial fluid with a cod Russian sounding name produced by interbrew probably stewed closer to Birmingham than Moscow.

It's a taxi ride away on the other side of the river from the marina but why not try The Medway Yacht Club? Last orders for dinner on a Saturday are 7:30pm and i am sure that they would be able to fit a group in if you booked in advance.

"why not try The Medway Yacht Club?"

excellent suggestion and just about the best clubhouse and catering on the Medway,
