Re Dubarry's, I personally prefer riggers boots - harder wearing, warmer, more durable, 25% of the price, don't look too bad IMO. But they don't have a "Dubarry" label, and I guess if I was you I wouldn't dare trying them as a pressie (unless she's a builder of course.. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif )


Oh yes...I bought my Dubarry's from Force4, Bristol, about 3 years ago.

And now I wear riggers boots when it's cold.

Point taken though, and I always check the soles, especially going onto a customer's boat. But I try not to go ashore in my deck boots anyway, since they wear out quickly, and pick up dirt.
 
New company riggers at work, "retired" riggers in the winter on the boat, very old retired riggers in the garden and workshop, dubarrys on the boat in the summer /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
