Yes i have now received the email. Let's hope there will be further debate about the issue and better still action. The problem will be enforcement if regulations were introduced.

Our problem is that when the pot fishermen get inspected by MCA the inspection is done in the harbour. No doubt the inspector will be shown a 'regulation' marker. The inspector will not ask to be taken out to see all the laid pots.

A disappointingly (if not unexpectedly) anodyne and content free “response”. Sadly par for the course with these petitions.
But still a worthwhile exercise to get on the record and on the agenda, albeit perhaps not high up the agenda.
The CA petition does seem to have very bad luck timing wise. First time round curtailed by the election, and this time landing just as the Government gets into a bit of political bother with the fishermen over Brexit. Whilst the lobster pot actions are not intended to harm fishermen, I guess the Government won’t want to take any perceived extra risks with them at this time.
