I am sure there must be a secret to this, and it's probably been posted before.

It would be great if someone would put the technique up as a sticky at the top of the list, then I can find out, then remind myself how to do it.

Most of us have a photo hosting site (such as photobucket)..

We then load pictures up there and point to them by copying the address (direct link to photograph) and adding...

Same for me. Unless you upload them on a regular basis it's not easy to achieve.

Just open a free Photobucket account ( www.photobucket.com )
Then upload your photos to Photobucket
I put them in separate albums within Photobucket
Before uploading, I resize my photos to 800 pixels wide (I know - YBW/IPC - prefer them to be 600 pixels wide but I think they look better wider)

Then in your post, you enclose the link to the photo you want to display between two IMG tags like this
[IMG]the link to your photo[/IMG]
here is an example
[IMG]http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/jj158/mikerothery/scmchat/aeriale16x9_Medium.jpg[/IMG]
This link will then display on this forum like this:-
aeriale16x9_Medium.jpg

Photobucket helps you out a bit
Here is a cut out of a Photobucket page

If you click the Image Code field, you can copy the link (complete with the [IMG][/IMG] tags)
Then just paste the copied link into your post

Hope that makes sense
