To those who use or have used Liverpool Marina, what is it like? Are there good facilities? What's the social crack like etc etc?
PM if you don't want to go public!

cheers

Pretty poor in general. Very limited access to river through lock then fierce tides which dictate your course, slightly too far to walk back from city centre at night, bar is wetherspoonish, nothing of any real interest nearby unless you're looking for a 2nd hand car. Maybe as a liveaboard working in town or over winter for Sunday racing tound the cans but if you want to sail in a pleasant setting think Conwy/Deganwy.

+1 above - and our boat is due to move there semi-permanently this winter (we live minutes away)

What I would advocate is the novelty value of sailing into (well, past!) the city. You can also have some fun (a morning’s worth!) taking the dinghy through into the Albert Dock etc.

or Holyhead (swinging moorings but excellent launch service)
