One of the News items last week on the front page of the Yachting Monthly Forum was:

Back Liverpool Boat Show: says RKJ

Sir Robin said the event would be held in the surroundings of the historic Albert Dock in 2011.

The boat show will take place from April 29 to May 8 2011 and is being organised by Marine Industry Events Ltd, whose group portfolio includes the British International Motor Show.

However, Page 5 pf the January 2010 YM mag says "Fair Winds for Liverpool, Merseyside is to get its own boat show. it opens on 29 April - 8 May 2010"

My understanding is that the no-hubcaps show is not yet definite. There was a meeting last week with potential exhibitors, to judge how much trade support the proposal would get.

The news item said it was a proposal but even so they have to decide which year it is to be held! or is it another YM blunder!

started in 2010 but they went with 2011.

I put this all down to a bad phone line: in due course the scousers will realise that what is proposed is a opportunity for wheel steering.

(There's a "Take the wheel" joke there too which I can't be bothered to make.)
