At present refitting my First 35 in Falmouth Cornwall and am seriously thinking of sailing to Turkey. Any suggestions for good marinas that allow liveaboard and have a good cruising fraternity?
Well, Turkey is mainly a cruising ground and the liveaboards here do not spend much time in marinas. However, you will find some of the best marinas in the world here for wintering. The top of the line is Netsel Marina and Yacht Marine in Marmaris, Bodrum Marina in Bodrum, D-Marin in Turgutreis and Port Bodrum in Yalikavak. These are all hard to beat for service and value for money anywhere in the world.
There was quite a cosmopolitan community in Marmaris Yacht Marine when we passed through last year. Its relatively inexpensive and had the best workshop facilities I have seen in any marina. Nice pool and restaurant.
