Few days ago, Zoomed up to Weymouth from Plymouth, perfect weather. Came to moor in Weymouth and immediately were informed that the pillock on the inside wanted to got at six am. Apparently he had been waiting 3 days to get back to the Solent!! I told him, that was a bloody long way!!! I was quietly tieing my shore lines and trying to avoid getting the rope legged up around other boats. I don’t want your ropes touching my boat says pillock, so the guy in front of us then had to have them draped all over his swim platform.

Anyway the rabble in front all had big signs on them in case any of them got lost.
It said MBM Cruise or summate. Funny thing was, they also were getting up at the ungodly hour of six am, for the two hour trip back to the Solent.

Then this bloke with a goatee beard turns up. Thort I recognised him. Wiggo just off to the West Country. Though now back in Weymouth cos he wimped out on account of the little swell!! Apparrently they don’t get proper waves in the Solent!!

The new bilge alarm has finally proved it’s worth and went off whilst leaving Weymouth after the aft bilge pump had packed in. Well worth the cost.

Reminds me of an incident yesterday when I took the girlfriend’s family out for a trip.

Been going for about half an hour, girlfriend comes back up stairs after checking hatches/doors closed etc. Says warning light and buzzer going off on the electric panel. Cue panic attack from guests that we’re about to sink. I pop down and see the alarm indicates bilge pump running. Big red flashing light and sound quite piercing. (Imagine siren from a ship that’s been hit by a torpedo in any war film) I’m now also beginning to think about sinking, and mentally should I make a distress call or check the bilges. There are 3 pumps and I can’t quite remember where they all are being a new boat etc. Run back upstairs and suddenly occurs that 4 year old niece might just have something to do with it. Sure enough, switch on dash is turned on. Phew!

Itiner.......Itnerar.......Itinerary....no, don't know that word.

Assuming weather OK, I'll be bobbing around in Swanage bay from sometime in the middle of the day, 'spect you Col and others will spend afternoon in pub, while I drift out towards needles.

Let's hope hlb can join the fun.
