live aboard in med france

[JOURNEYMAN]

Hi,
We are a couple of boats heading to med France for next winter. Looking for overwinter marina, preferred east of RHone. Criteria are masts up, 2m draught, vibrant town, and most importantly a liveabord community.
Also preferred good comms - trains, buses etc.

Not loaded, but looking for a good price

Any advice much appreciated

I do not think this would provide a "vibrant town." Possibly Sete or even Marseillan [via Sete], although a liveaboard community is stretching it.

Hi My Fiancee is from Carry Le Rouet. 20km West of Marseille. Very Reasonable rates, small fishing and sailing port, not many live aboards, but a nice location and well sheltered. Good Luck in your search.

Look at Palavas - people are there all year round and it is cycling distance (and there is a cycle path) to Montpellier which has a charming and vibrant old town.

The only marina with a strong livaboard community and vibrant town in the winter months is Antibes, everywhere else is pretty much dead from oct through to March.......
