Littlehampton to Brighton on Saturday

Well done, glad it all went reasonably well. It was smoother today, even the short hop to Swanage.

Very low tide today, so was sitting on the sand when I woke up this morning, was expecting it so raised leg etc., takes to ground quite ok, as long as you know what you are going to rest on. 'fraid you've got to have a photo :(

I kept my canopy up today, that protects from a lot of the spray, but probably not a good idea if there is serious amounts of water coming over.

Good for you! Family enjoy it?

Yeah, they did in the end. Though SWMBO felt sick on the way and I could tell by her face she was thinking "Lets sell the boat!".

But we spent the night in the marina and then the journey back was much better, she now wants to go with me to Chichester next weekend, round Selsey etc. to her new mooring and we are going to spend the weekend on her again, but just us this time. :-)

Next challange for this boat and me.

On Friday SWMBO and I are moving boat round to Chichester via Selsey.
Going Friday evening, tides look good, freeflow at Chi Marina and wind so far looking good.

Now should I go right round or through the looe channel?

[QUOTE "Just got home after a nice weekend. We did decide to go to Brighton in the end and got absolutely soaked on the way there.
The waves were probably a couple of metres high and most of them ended up in the cockpit but we pushed on.
Was very glad to get to Brighton though we had to go to Asda to buy some new clothes to wear.
Was worried about the coming back but this journey was actually a lot better. The wind was up but the waves seemed a lot smaller and we could get up on the plane easily, though we did slow down about half way so the journey was about 1.5 hours."
Please tell us what time you left L'ton on Saturday, also time of depart Brighton (was that Sunday?). Very strange that it was worse going than returning!

We left Littlehampton around 1pm I think, left Brighton around the same time. Can't remember the exact times i'm afraid.

If the wind is off the land you should not have a problem with a 3 or 4. If you have wind against tide it will be best to go earlier or later. What ever you do do not put swimbo or the kids off boating like i did many years ago off the needles !
