Well, as safe as one can expect..... Left Inverness today and heading through the big deep Loch with the moster in it. The passage was made with eye watering speed, as a nice following F3 helped them along.

Met up with the crew for a short coffee at Fort Augustus where all seemed to be in good spirit before the evening meal. Had to leave them as work called. Work now complete and can report that despite the possible language difficulties, they appear to be well nourished, and have a good re-hydration regime in operation onboard. Great so meet them, the dogs and the wonderful Little Ship who ensures the safe passage!

Monsters ....

The monsters will enjoy the Dulux flavoured wood. Very tasty. Just waiting for the doom and gloom and then the remarkable recovery.........
Of course they are still moored in the Loch ... so no telling what the dark "Schotticshs" nights are going to bring ... my guess ... "there be tales to tell..."

Thanks for letting us know proceedings Alf, was this Bernie's first trip to Scotland?
Hope the weather has been reasonable for them.

Absolutely perfect from the pics I saw; rain, mist, midges, fog & sleet - all the usual Scottish summer conditions. That's why he needs a greenhouse.

BTW "Olly" of the tiny "round Britain for lukaemia" trip has just entered the Inverness end of the Cally, so perhaps locals can keep an eye out for him up there.

Think I saw him arriving around high tide yesterday ... but not knowing the above, he looked just like other small sailing yachts heading for the canal .... he will be very well looked after by the canal staff though...

Little Ship has lost her dick
And does not know where to go.
She found another one, but it would not fit.
And seeks another go.

Her wooden dick is quite alarming
Even though the women were quite charming.
Even then it was to thick.

They could not get round her dick..

Bet I get banned for this Just give us a kiss.

Navigator

Any potential cruising news of the good ship 'Navigator' and her crew this season?
Is she happy in her new home?

Happy, yes, but still on the dry ... just fitted the repaired seawater strainer. New Alloy Brass top manufactured ... @ £95 in material only :( ... still cheaper than new unit which is 8x that. Busy over the next couple of weeks, but will launch ASAP, then all going well, it will be some nice gentle cruises amongst the dolphins in the bay. Vacation is planned early August this year...

What caused the damage, electrolysis?

All the best for the season Alf. :)

What caused the damage, electrolysis?

Temperature (very cold at -25 ish) ... top screwed firmly on (centre bolt only) and centre bold being of what appears to be mild steel, contracted at a very diferent rate to the Alloy Brass Unit..... so pulled centre of lid (casted) down until the centre of it gave away and cracked ... surprised me somewhat. Now have a stronger, machined lid and will loosen bolts at wintertime (when on dry) from now on...

Ok short report, On my way back South and in Oban at the moment. Clyde Coastguard have just given a forecast of F8 but everything else is saying next to noting.

Re-hydration going well.....

Divemaster had to seduce the Whippets to prevent serious harm :)
