I am looking at a lithium battery project for marine use. What is a typical battery capacity for liveaboards doing electric cooking? Assuming lifePO4 batteries. We would be building a 24v bank so keen to build and test something of a typical size.

sailaboutvic will be posting soon I guess.
decent VFM right now are the circa 300Ah cells, just built a 8S (24V) bank for my mobo. That's close to 8kWh and iirc vic has similar capacity (only in 12V guise)
if you feel that 7kWh is OK for your needs, gives you 250+Ah to play which is similar to 500Ah LA then fine.
Else you go for multiples (8S2P) and have to decide if you'll pack them together (will be rather heavy - my 8S in one line with backingplates must be v.close to 50kg and 650mm long
Personally I doubt 7kWh will cut it unless you accept generator for your watermaker.
Poey thread has all the other info/pointers you need to know (which add up!)
