I have my boat out here in Corfu and always use Benitses slipway to launch and take it in and out each day. Last yearwe did not have any problems and early this was also trouble free.
However, the last couple of trips have proved problematic when retrieving the boat at the end of the day. It's proving very difficult to get the boat up onto the trailer in the middle as it should be. It keeps wanting to go to port and miss the rubber "V" that holds the bow. In fact, back in July I managed to break 1 side of the rubber "V" completely off.
And so to the cause. On closer inspection of the slipway it appears to be sinking on the port side. I had noticed that when the starboard trailer mudgaurd is at water level the port 1 is a couple of inches under water. Obviously the boat is coming up level and the trailer is leaning to port and causing the problem.
Now I realise that the slipway is unlikely to get fixed anytime soon and will probably contunue to sink on the port side so any tips as to how this can sorted would be appreciated. I could try and put a stone under the port wheel of the trailer but maybe someone can think of an easier solution.
