I am scraping off many layers of paint and varnish from the timber and plywood lockers, bulkheads and doors inside the boat. It's slow work because I don't want to use chemical strippers and using a blow lamp might lead to a Viking funeral, so that only leaves dry scraping. I have seen an advert for the Linbide carbide scraper which makes great claims for it.

Anyone here used one? Are they any better than the Bahco, Sandvik, Skarsten scrapers [or bits of broken glass!]?

Linbide is just another scraper with a carbide blade, I cannot see it being much different to any other carbide bladed scraper, eg Sandvik, but they are good. Scarsten scrapers, and glass, will be less effective for your purpose IMHO, but I think that it will still be fairly hard and tedious work if you want to get down to bare wood. Have you considered a hot air gun? Very effective and more controllable than a blowlamp.
