I have a sound carvel hull which has been limpetited since new (1972). According to the last survey (last week) it is holding very well indeed. However I noticed a cut in the limpetite just below the water line. The cut is about 1 inch long and if you carefully pull it back slightly you can see the wood beneath.

Any ideas how best to repair this?

Regards

Crikey! Genuine Limpetite!

Haven't a clue! If still available (I have an idea it was used on power station seawater cooling pipes) I suggest more Limpetite!

Thanks. Yes Limpetite is still obtainable - although to be honest I haven't asked for a pot yet! I just wondered if anyone else out there has a limpetite covered hull and had some advice on local repairs.

Regards

Peter
