This anchor was in a box of bits from a defunct 1970's Mirror dinghy - it's labelled "Limpet UK 1kg".

Does anyone know anything about these anchors? Quite a neat design as it folds flat with the flukes protected.

It must have been used as there's mud on it! No sign of any chain, so I guess it was just rope.

I bought one of these anchors in the 70s it's the best thing anchor easy to use I have recently given it to my son use with his new boat he would like another one so he can moor the back and the front of his boat. Unfortunately it doesn't appear that they're made anymore at least I can't find one on Google or eBay

Thanks for posting the photo.

I have never seen this model, but it seems to be based on the stockless anchor, but with a modified shank.

The stockless anchor is not a great performer, especially when scaled down to smaller sizes. At 1kg the flukes of this design are likely to struggle, but it would be great if you could try it and report the results.

Here is a much larger Stockless anchor underwater:

Can't help bit think the frame is the weak point. Good heave would bend it and stop the flukes from swivelling through the frame. Dinghy lunch anchor..
