\"LIGHTS ON THE WATER\" Saturday 13 December 7.30 pm...

Don't miss the Xmas lighting-up event in aid of Children with Cancer, where all kinds of boats dressed with all manner of decorations and lighting will be sailing as brightly as possible across the Bay to moor up in Mermaid Quay.

Boats wishing to take part should gather near the Barrage by 7.30 pm and move to Mermaid Quay when all are assembled. The harbour authority will will link up the seperate pontoon for access to the main walkway, but are unable to provide electricity.

Lorraine Barrett A.M. has kindly accepted an invitation and will hopefully be able to judge the boats early for those without much light up power...

For further information see notice boards in yacht clubs or call Dave Dalton: 02920 496813 or 07879271199... This event has nothing to do with me... I am simply passing on this info, I met Dave at Mermaid Quay last Saturday... Tony /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

We will do it if the weather is decent especially as it is connected with Lisettes job. Just wondering how to supply several thousand watts.

I had a chat with Dave Dalton at Penarth on Friday - they are hoping to make it an annual event if it goes off OK. They only started planning it very recently, and got some very good prizes at short notice, so it would definitely be worth "competing".

So did anyone see it? It must have pretty parky in the Bay - my toes got very cold going back up the Channel yesterday afternoon /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
