Lights and lighthouses quiz

Looking back through some old photos, I find that I have photographed or visited quite a few lighthouses. For your amusement I have thrown them together as a sort of quiz. They were all taken in the last 40 years during our summer cruises from the East Coast, and we've never sailed to Scotland.

Some are ridiculously easy, and some a little less so. A case of virtual Champagne to anyone who has actually seen them all.

Don't know any except 15, possibly 11 but if I'm right it ain't anywhere near the E Coast. A great post, thanks.

Oops. Some places appear more than once, as I intended, but No 10 is repeated at 21. I had noticed this and corrected it but evidently not successfully.

Good quiz..... but at best I can place 6 or 7 so it will be amazing to find someone who can place them all.

I think I recognise 8 and 15 but only because of the famous background.
Never having sailed anywhere othe the North Wales I have not idea of the East Coast but it does look interesting.

We had our own private flying display as the flight circled us before appearing at the Eastbourne Air Show (which may or may not have been nearby!)

I was sailing near Dover a couple of years ago when a Saga cruise ship was leaving the port. They seem to have an arrangement with one of the Spitfires to came and do a show for them as they sail. We had a very good view of it.

Aerolegends fly two seaters out of Headcorn and one of their regular jaunts is "The White Cliffs" experience which includes overflying Dover

(They also operate out of Sywell and even I'm bored with the sound of the Merlin now!)

No. And not Newhaven either. English Channel though.

3,10, 17, 26, 29 & 30 are also Channel or nearby, as is 9.

Unmistakeable if you've seen it of course. I believe it is a popular marriage venue.

1 and 13 Portland Bill, 16 Usedom.Poland, 18 Fastnet, 19 Beachy Head, 22 Orford Ness,24 Belle Toute, 26 Smeatons Tower, 30 St Catherines Breakwater.Jersey, 31 Hoorn.Netherlands

I confess to googling 16 out of curiosity, Fastnet is iconic, all others I've sailed past.

Should have included 15 Needles.

Surely you can’t have a lighthouse photo quiz without any of the classic Stevenson lighthouses ???
They are the classics of lighthouse engineering.

Quite a few standard ones though Portland x 2, Fastnet, Needles etc
