Come the start of the season I found that all my nav lights ( stern light, bow lights, tricolour and masthead anchor) were u/s. Most times I could not see a break in the filiament. But the mast was stored on trestles, and for some of the winter the pullpit ( and it's lights) was not on the boat. So how come they all failed together?
The only thing I can think of is that shortly prior to recovery I brought the boat back from the south coast and that included some night time motoring. Maybe a voltage spike but if so, why the tricolour? Can't see it being vibration since different bits of the boat would vibrate at different frequencies. Lightning?
Anybody experienced the same thing? Most upsetting since the bulbs are extortionately expensive at £7 each ie £35 in total.
