After observing the seemingly interminable colregs/IoW ferry and pot buoy threads, I felt that it was my duty to bring light dues back on to the scene. We haven't ranted about these at least a month.

Sorry, I have one of Jimi's round turns and two half hitches around my tongue. But I'll enjoy watching /forums/images/icons/smile.gif.

Perhaps we should all camapign for the UKHO to produce charts without lights shown. They would be cheap (using less ink) and we could then demonstrate that we do not use lights.

I think its shocking .. I don't see any proposals to charge road traffic for the lights that are needlessly put along our roads creating light pollution.. I am going to start a campaign to remove all lighting maritime or land..

The bouy I had a close encounter with wasn't lit and should have been. Nothing worse than an unlit navigation bouy!
