Any suggestions for a yard where you might be allowed to liv..... err, I mean spend a bit of time onboard on the hard while doing some work.

The one at Upnor can't fit me in, what about Hoo? They used to but have changed hands so not sure now.

Anywhere else worth trying? Budget limited.

Iron Wharf,BUT contrary to usual practice,make sure you tell them up front that you will be sleeping on board. they will charge a few pounds extra. but then you don't need to be 'discreet' and all that cock. Friendly yard with a good chandlers and trad shipwright. good luck Jerry

Another possibility is Mariners Farm at Rainham. I don't about size limits or living aboard, but definately a DIY yard.
