I, too, am thinking about doing Poole to the West country this summer probably to Torquay. I see that members have recommended a stop in Weymouth so I think I will take that advice.
I see there is a lifting bridge there before you get to the marina. I guess my air draught is about 2.5m, I have never measured it. Can anyone tell me will I get under the bridge without it being lifted at some point in the tidal cycle? Or even if I plan my arrival for low tide will I still have to wait for it to lift?
