Just for the moment I'm after a little guidance.

This boat will do the rivers south through France but not the canals; that's fine but I'm wondering about an approximate cost for the lift out, 200 mile journey and pop back in for a 55ft 35 ton motorboat.

Does anyone have any experience of doing this?

Much appreciated

I moved a targa 40 from La Rochelle to Barcelona a few years ago for about £5000. Rates vary local operators , return loads and so on. Also remember to add in lift costs at both ends and boat prep for transport ( removing radar towers, securing everything' and then putting the bits back on again

Excellent, it seems to be getter cheaper. Can anyone recollect the transport company name?

Transport Cappelle, reasonable English and google translate did the rest. St Jean was ideal for getting into the rivers but ripped our eyes out on the lift back into the water, make sure, if you use them, to agree the price before its lifted.

Have you checked height restrictions for the road journey against the minimum air height you can achieve on a truck? If your 55' boat is a flybridge model, it may be near the limit

Ah, good point about the road bridges and distance. The line of site distance is about 200m but I guess the trucking company would plan the journey. The boat is <4.0m and no not a fly bridge.

I thought you'd meant 'pad eyes' but didn't what embarrass myself by asking - hope the real ones recovered!
