The longer you leave it the more items in the survival kit will have gone o o d. A flare pack alone will set you back a few pennies. There is likely to be more in the way of little repair jobs to be done, as well.

Time is a smaller factor than contents. If you have a full ocean survival pack is is going to cost big heaps, if only coastal with nothing extra probably abt half as much.

There are several factors, how old the cylinder is and when it was last hydrostatically tested, what consumables you have on the raft and how you store it and what kind of raft it is. At the end of the day it is a case of how much you value your family, friends and charterers lifes etc etc..
