Lifebuoy Ring & Lifejacket recommendations?

Any recommendations for appropriate lifebuoy ring and the line length/type to have on-board? (seen standard sheets and floating options)

Same for life-jackets: especially for under-18's who will be with us.

Finally, best place to buy?

They are pretty much all the same thing to be honest.

I would suggest a 25m throwline in your cockpit is much more useful than a life ring as they are easier to throw.

Many people swear by the Bell Throwline as it's more accurate.

Lifejackets - well Crewsaver are the industry standard and you can't go far wrong. Many manufacturers produce more expensive and cheaper versions and you could write a book on them.

Personally I would suggest you get lifejackets with a harness rather than a plastic buckle. They are not much more expensive and offer a strong and secure way of pulling an MOB back into the boat.

If its wet and wild for your type of boating, go for an auto pressure sensitive type. Slow and sedate go for the cheaper salt versions.

Always get an auto jacket though.
